PSO vs Shell vs Total Parco Fuel Comparison in Pakistan

Pakistan State Oil is the country's largest oil marketing company and is majority state-owned, running roughly 3,600 retail outlets — comfortably the widest fuel network in Pakistan, alongside depots, airport refuelling facilities and seaport operations. Its premium grade is marketed as Altron Premium Euro 5, and it runs the Carient loyalty card programme.

Shell Pakistan trades under the Shell brand but is no longer controlled by Shell plc — Saudi-based Wafi Energy acquired the 77.42% majority stake that Shell plc previously held, and now runs the business. It operates over 600 retail sites, markets Shell V-Power as its high-octane grade, and runs the Shell ClubSmart rewards programme.

Total PARCO runs more than 800 service stations in Pakistan. It began as a 50/50 joint venture between TotalEnergies and PARCO (Pak-Arab Refinery Company), but TotalEnergies sold its half to commodity trading group Gunvor in December 2024; the business continues to trade under the Total PARCO brand. Its fuels carry the Excellium additive formulation and many sites include Bonjour convenience stores.

Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) began commercial operations in 1998 and sits within Pakistan's Attock group, alongside Attock Refinery Limited and Pakistan Oilfields Limited — both of which are also shareholders, together with the Pharaon Investment Group as the largest single holder. Its network of more than 750 outlets runs from Khunjerab in the far north down to Karachi, and it offers CNG at selected sites.
