Why Lahore pays the same notified rate
Lahore lies roughly 1,033 km from Karachi in a straight line — further by road — and every litre sold here has to travel that distance from the port and refinery complex where imported product lands. That journey is not billed to you directly. OGRA folds it into the Inland Freight Equalisation Margin, currently PKR 7.35 per litre on petrol, and pools it nationally, which is why Lahore pays the same notified rate as Karachi despite the haul.
